happy favorites (Little Rock, AR senior photographer)

I am a strong believer that there is not much better than an October evening in Arkansas. Fall is my favorite season, and though our weather is almost always a little unpredictable, you can usually count on October evenings to be crisp and on a sunny day the golden light fades to a glorious sunset. It's my favorite. Lots of things are my favorite.
This senior session is also one of my favorites.
The light and this sweet friend.
Hearing about plans for the future.
Golden light and great locations.
Laughter. Lipstick.
Favorites. Happies.

hello Monday.

#CousinsTakeEurope...rainy London day

When we planned to head to Europe this past summer there was one destination that our boys really wanted to work in the itinerary, London! When I was in college my parents moved to London and lived there for 3 years. My boys have heard many stories of that dreamy time for my parents and for Peter and I who visited a couple of times while they were there. It is also dreamy to them in a Harry Potter way. We arrived at the train station in London around midnight and to get things off on the right foot we headed straight to platform 9 3/4. We had heard stories of long lines to see this cutie spot, but luckily there are no lines at midnight! Many photos and great big smiles and then a short cab ride to our London accommodations. Our home for the three days there would be the London Central Hostel. It was a great option for traveling with a group and with kids and in a wonderful location.

On our first full day in London we did the following/I want to remember:
Breakfast at Fernandez&Wells
LOTS of rides in the double decker buses (our favorite?)
A walk around Trafalgar Square
St Paul's Cathedral
Walking across the Thames on the pedestrian bridge (wow)
Tate Modern Museum
Lunch at Tortillas
A walk down the south side of the Thames and through Hays galleria
Strolling through my parent's old neighborhood, Shad Thames
Sipping lots of warm drinks in the rain
Crossing the Tower Bridge
A boat cruise on City Cruises (this was so cool!!! See more on Alison's blog)
Putting eyes on the London eye and Big Ben ("it's not that big" say the kids)
More warm drinks, phone charging and meeting up with Chipper and Tanja
Chipper sitting with Simon and Campbell on the front row of the bus
Peter and Wilson meeting up with a Starbucks partner, making London friends and latte art
Seeing the home of Sherlock Holmes
Dinner at a cutie pub in Northwest London
Back to the hostel and thankful for our bunk beds.

first look (arkansas wedding photographer)

This rainy Monday has me moving pretty slow, but I am so excited to share a first look at this first look and a few photos of this beautiful couple and their October 4th wedding. It was a lovely day with perfect weather and the most laid back bride and groom. They were a total pleasure to work with.
More from this wedding soon.

#CousinsTakeEurope....a night and day at the beach

Aberdeen beach, Scotland coast
I have been pretty careful to not mention this, because I know it is a statement that makes me sound completely spoiled, but when we planned our trip to Europe I was a little sad to have to let go of our normal summer beach trip. For the past three years we have done a July beach trip with some good friends and I knew that time and money would not allow for us to do both. I do love to travel and as much as I love to check out new places I do have a few places that I always want to go back to. I said it. And I am a little travel spoiled. I heart the beach.
It was a fleeting thought and I knew the beauty of the the places we would see and the joy of seeing our people would far outweigh my missing the beach. Plus I knew that we would visit the sea and get to dip our toes in the water and walk through the sand...my favorite.
On our last night in Scotland Alison and I took a took a bottle of wine and headed to the beach for a little girl time. We watched the sunset at 11pm and talked while listening to the waves crash. It was lovely. And even better we got up the next morning and took the kids and Peter and headed back to the same beach. It was a cool and windy morning, but we enjoyed every minute of that blue sky and digging our toes in the sand. It was a perfect last morning in Scotland. Now time to jump on a plane and head south. London here we come.
