cruising day 1...St Thomas

Waking up to this view was just one of the reasons that St Thomas was one of our favorite stops on our Carnival Victory Cruise. Being in the Atlantic time zone we slept later than normal all week and enjoyed being awakened by room service of coffee and cereal that we took on the patio.

Another favorite was the amazing architecture and color of St Thomas. The city is marked by tons of rock work and old buildings. Silly touristy gift shops are in the most amazing buildings and just walking down the streets and corridors was a major treat.

We made a little stop to enjoy a frozen drink with a distant view of our ship.

We booked a tour through Sunny Liston Tours that included a ride to the shopping area and then a trip up the mountain for views, Banana Daiquiris, and karaoke by our driver. We were then taken to a beach for a few hours in the sun. Our tour started off a little rough with others on our tour running late, but we enjoyed our driver, Elvis, and the beach was so gorgeous.

We got back on the boat around 4 and took in the views from the Lido as we sat sail. This night was New Years Eve and one of the formal nights at dinner.

I love this next photo because it is what Campbell looked like at dinner every night. He LOVED the bread with dinner and made quick friends with the man who brought it. Campbell ordered 3 pieces of bread, shrimp cocktail and molten chocolate cake every night while Wilson never ordered dessert and had sushi on the way to the dining room every night. This night we all had lobster...yum!

We did a little dinner time dancing and then returned to our room for a little towel animal fun. Wilson, Campbell and I made it until midnight and watched a big balloon drop in the lobby of the boat. Great Day!
