lee's leaves

When we scheduled these pictures we were planning for leaves. Our main goal was to get a Christmas card picture and we were hoping for fall.

The morning was freezing and with three little ones we decided to move the shoot to their house. It was perfect, with leaves to spare.

I had taken photos of baby j a few months earlier and was excited to get some more with her adorable big brothers.

beautiful music

These are pictures I had been excited about taking since we had to cancel in the summer. These are people that make me smile and it was a delight to share a day (one of their b-days) with them.

I'm not sure if this is what they normally do on a Saturday afternoon, but I enjoyed the private family concert.

I have been taking the James pictures since E was just a little guy and they never disappoint. We always have fun and find fun places to go.

We even happened upon this very cool truck, just parked in the grass.

I've mentioned how I love to capture a couple and I always manage to get sweet moments of Amy and Nathan- they are just sweet!

It is always a pleasure for me to get to photograph families. Between the session and the time I spend processing I feel like I get to know people through the pictures. This process is extra special for me when I am going through it with people I already know well.

They are my family so it's easier to tell them exactly what I want. Even if it involves sitting in very dirty places or laying on damp grass.

Thanks for being willing to go crazy places and try new things.

fall "days"

I enjoyed taking pictures of the entire family as I have already done the kids by themselves this fall.

Sometimes it's good to remember we can look cute, even without our kids.

color

When I originally talked to this family about doing pictures we had decided on late October to try to catch some beautiful fall colors. We did manage to find a few spots with some leaves changing, but the color I enjoyed most was on sweet A's tights.

These kiddos were precious.

These are from a few weeks ago. We went to a friends house who has a great yard. I think the little guys really enjoyed discovering new places.

These little cuties are only 1 year apart. I love the pictures I got of them from behind because you really see how close they are to the same size.

It so great to catch parents looking at their kids.

dreamy dress

When I booked my session with this family the mom told me that before we did some family pictures she would like some pictures of her daughter in a vintage lace dress. I was super excited because I love clothes and it makes me excited for people to be photographed in clothes that have a story or even better clothes that tell a story.
