Whenever I am lucky enough to work with a couple for maternity photos I am instantly taken back to that time in my life. I know that all moments in life are fleeting and time that goes by so slowly while you are in the midst of it can seem like a flash in time when looking back, but for me no time seems more that way than pregnancy.
My own first pregnancy seemed like an eternity (at 41+ weeks it really was) but now seems like a blink in time. And now 10 years on the other side of it I really wish I would have slowed down and for sure taken more photos. I so love a baby bump. I feel that my post pregnancy body wishes I would have been more accepting of my pregnant self.
Don't think that in my fond memories I have forgotten being endlessly tired, swollen, and weepy, but I'm just saying it is a time to be embraced. Like all moments in parenting it will pass and from the other side it will be full of sweet memories and a new found appreciation for Tums.
I loved my time with Laura and Ben. They seemed to so perfectly enjoy this time in their lives. To close their eyes and soak in the moment.
They braved the heat (a 90+ degree midMay day) and took it all in stride.
Our time together was full of laughter and NLR connections. I am convinced that you can always find a common friend or relative with people from around North Little Rock.
Laura and I graduated only two years apart and she grew up down the street from one of my best friends.
Laura and Ben both grew up in central arkansas, but met while both living in NYC.
It's a small town and a small world and I wouldn't want it any other way.
Thanks for the fun day guys and here's hoping you have a cool June and are able to enjoy all the moments of this special time. Can't wait to meet your little one!
