spring break

It was a fairly low key spring break around the Loibner house. We spent the majority of our week at home enjoying having the boys and Peter around the house and taking advantage of the few hours of sunshine we got. We used those hours for walks, deck building, soccer playing and lots of family time.

But before all that we kicked the week off with a three night tour of Northwest Arkansas. We stopped at Devil's Den State Park and did a beautiful hike, the highlight of my week. Next we headed to Fayetteville to visit with some great friends and enjoy the gorgeous weather and dinner on a patio. The next day we hit the Crystal Bridges Museum of American Art. The museum and the grounds around it were so beautiful. We loved checking out the art and the architecture and spent some time in the children's area of the museum too where all three boys took advantage of some building toys.

The next morning we got up and headed to Castle Bluff. Castle Bluff is a camp and a special place in mine and Peter's stories. Peter has been going there since he was 3 years old and I have been going since junior high. Together we have been there dozens of times, met there almost 17 years ago, and fell in love over a summer of leading camps and building cabins. Yet somehow our boys have never been before this week, except a couple while Wilson was a baby and too small for any of the fun.

After a quick tour of the camp the boys moved right on to the main event. They had been dreaming of the day when they could join the ranks of all of their cousins before them and get on the Castle Bluff zip line. It did not disappoint.

Once we got them to move on they discovered a love for carpet ball, the rock wall, the bat cave, the waterfall, the grace trail and Noah the dog. This stop was the highlight of their week and a week later it is still dominating the conversation around the house.
