Today I am linking up with Lindsey from the Pleated Poppy for What I Wore Wednesday. And this Wednesday I am talking about what I wore and packed for a 7 day cruise in the Southern Caribbean on the Carnival Victory.
Clothing Packing List:
-7 nighttime outfits (that is what is pictured here) doesn't have to be super dressy. people were in everything from sundresses to formals on some nights
-shoes for day/night (9 pairs for me including flip flops and tennis shoes)
-jewelry for day/night
-2 pairs shorts
-4 tops to go with shorts
-4 sundresses for daytime and to double as swim cover-ups
-1 pair jeans
-few pairs of socks
-2 cardigans that i could throw on at night for shows or dinner if cold
-small purse to carry on boat to hold phone and sail & sign card
-hat (fedora and sun hat)
-sweat shirt
-3 things to sleep in
-work out pants
-t-shirt
-3 swimsuits, but 2 would be enough
Extras:
-rubber bands (crazy boat hair)
-bobby pins
-camera w extra battery and memory cards
-sunglasses (2 pairs just in case)
-sunscreen
-toiletries
-hairbrush
-hairdryer (there were hair dryers provided, but they were super slow and took forever)
-straightener
-beach/pool book
-towel (towels are provided so this is not a must, but can be helpful in marking a chair)
-ziplock bags (used these to collect shells, protect phones at the beach, etc...)
-water bottle (we filled this up in the morning before excursions and took it with us)
-shampoo/conditioner (shampoo and body wash is provided and fine)
-lotion/aloe
-ID, credit cards, cash (think we took $200 cash for souvenirs, food/drinks off the boat, casino, tips)
Traveling w kids? A few more Extras:
-glow sticks bc they are fun and exciting
-few toys, but really don't need much
-notebook w markers or pens
-flashlight or reading light for night
-bucket and shovel for beach days (we took one that we were ok to leave at the end of the week)
-goggles
-snorkel (you can buy them on the boat at excursion desk for $5 each)
Notes:
-we packed our family of 4 in three suitcases. we had a balcony suite and were able to put the empty suitcases under our bed and completely unpack into the drawers and closets. Used one empty bag in the bottom on the closet for dirty clothes.
-last cruise i took extra wire hangers w me because you are only given a certain amount. we used them while there and then just left them in the closet. I wish I would have remembered to do that again. I don't want to iron on vacation.
-you do a lot of walking around the boat so wear shoes that you can do that in. i took 3 pairs of heals, but was glad to mix that up with flats.
-for a January cruise in the Virgin Islands our weather was highs in the 80s and lows in the 70s. We were really never cold except for an hour on a day we got stuck in the rain.
-nothing wrong with wearing something more than once. I really love clothes so I didn't do it, but it would be no big deal.
-my boys (7 & 9) wore shorts to dinner almost every night with a polo or button up. They did wear pants and a tie on one of the dress up nights for fun. They also wore leather flip flops to dinner every night, I didn't see a need for dress shoes. My youngest son, who is cold natured, was cold every night at dinner so we started taking him a jacket. Might have been the 4 glasses of lemonade.

Happy Cruising!
